PLUNGE is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Training
Facility and runs 6 Instructor Development Courses (IDC) throughout the
year. Having certified over 2000
students from beginners through to instructor means we live the experience of
training all levels of divers, and so can pass on this knowledge to instructors
in training.

Why should you become an Instructor with PLUNGE?
Expert Tuition - Peter Szyszka our Course Director is one of the most experienced instructor trainers in Austraila.
Recognised Certification - An instructor certification earned through PLUNGE is extremely respected and recognised in the diving industry and will certainly benefit you in your search for future employment.
PLUNGE Employment - We are more likely to offer employment at
PLUNGE Diving to instructors that have been trained by us than to those
trained elsewhere.

To become a PADI Instructor, you need to
complete a PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). In addition to preparing
you to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor and teaching PADI programs,
the IDC develops your leadership and teaching abilities.
To qualify for the PADI IDC, you must:
- Be certified as a PADI Assistant Instructor or PADI Divemaster,
or as an instructor with another recreational diver training organisation
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be fit for diving and submit a medical form signed by a
physician
- Have been a certified diver for at least six months and logged
at least 60 open water dives with experience in night, deep and navigation
prior to beginning the IDC and have been a certified diver for at least 6
months and logged at least 100 dives prior to entering the Instructor
Examination.
- Submit proof of CPR training within the past 24 months
- During the PADI IDC, you'll learn the PADI
System of diver education, standards and procedures, effective academic
teaching presentations, teaching in confined water, conducting open water
training dives and additional related topics.
After successful completion of the IDC, you
must successfully complete the PADI Instructor Examination (IE). You will be
evaluated on dive theory, academic teaching, confined-water teaching,
open-water teaching, general diving skills and professionalism.
As a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor you
can conduct the entire range of PADI experience programs and PADI Diver
programs, from Open Water through Divemaster.
At PLUNGE, we like to sit down and explain
in person the different facets of our Instructor training. Please contact us
to arrange a meeting with Peter Szyszka , our Course Director.
