PADI Adventures In Diving

Make your diving more than simple sightseeing!  Expand your concept of diving and begin to really experience the many facets of the underwater world.

Our PADI Advanced Open Water Course is designed to follow-on from the PADI Open Water Course.  This course focuses on discovering different types of diving, developing your experiences and exploring particular areas of interest.  The training and skills are designed to boost your confidence, build on the foundational skills you have already learnt and teach you to become a more proficient diver.

Comprising of five different Adventure dives, our PADI Advanced Open Water course gives you the opportunity to try some of diving's most rewarding and useful specialty activities, such as deep diving, wreck diving and night diving.

Why is PLUNGE Diving's Advanced Open Water Course better than others?
  • Experienced instructors
  • Small class size - more personal attention
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course requirement
  • Fantastic elective dives giving you a varied and fun experience
  • Personal Safety Equipment Requirement

What you will learn
During this course the emphasis is on practical application - classroom sessions are kept to a minimum and the focus is on developing your in-water skills.

You will learn skills and techniques to safely complete 5 different types of diving.  A Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation Dive are mandatory dives on all PADI Advanced Open Water courses.

1.    Deep Dive - how to safely dive to a depth of 30 meters
2.    Underwater Navigation - how to navigate using a compass and natural underwater features

The other 3 elective dives* we offer are:

3.    Night - a special and different experience to diving during the day
4.    Search & Recovery - how to search for and recover objects while learning valuable safety marker buoy deployment skills
5.    Wreck - how to safely navigate a wreck site while experiencing part of Sydney Harbour's history and the fish life an artificial reef can attract (this dive is weather dependant; the alternate dive will be an Underwater Naturalist dive where you learn to identify local marine species)

*Should one of these elective dives not appeal to you, we can offer alternative Adventures dives though additional charges may apply.

PADI Adventures in Diving Program
The PADI Adventures in Diving program is a way of building towards the Advanced Open Water course without doing the entire course over one weekend.  It's based on the premise that diving is a means to explore other interests.  Once comfortable with the basic skills, you'll want to conquer new tasks, see different creatures, journey into diverse environments and experience new adventures over a period of time.

Because of today's environment, convenience and flexibility is important and the Adventures in Diving program is designed to allow you to choose dives that interest you, sample activities and learn new skills under the guidance of an instructor.  You can simply do a single Adventure dive, 3 Adventure dives to earn your Adventure Diver certification or continue on to do 5 dives including a Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation Dive to gain your Advanced Open Water certification.

Should the flexibility of our Adventures in Diving Program appeal to you rather than doing an entire Advanced Open Water course over one weekend, please contact us for further information.
